صحيفة المرصد : علق رئيس جمعية الإمارات للأورام حميد الشامسي، على ما نشرته الوكالة الدولية لأبحاث السرطان التابعة لمنظمة الصحة العالمية، بأن مُحلي الأسبرتام المستخدم كبديل للسكر مادة مسرطنة محتملة.

وكشف "الشامسي" احتمالية أن تكون اللحوم الحمراء من المواد الغذائية المسببة للسرطان قائلًا في تعليق أرفقه مع مقطع فيديو عبر حسابه بـ "تويتر": "معظم الناس قد تتفاجىء من موضوع الأسبرتام ولا يعلم بأن اللحوم الحمراء تم تصنيفها من نفس فئة الأسبرتام ك، من الممكن بأن تكون مسببة للسرطان".

وأوضح "الشامسي"، أنه من خلال الدراسات والتجارب التي أجريت على الفئران فإن استهلاك هذه المادة (الأسبرتام)، بكميات كبيرة، فإنها تؤدي إلى السرطان.

وأشار إلى دراسة أجريت في فرنسا، ربطت بين الاستهلاك المفرط لهذه المادة، والإصابة بأنواع مختلفة من السرطانات.

ووجه نصيحة بأن من يستطيع أن يتجنب تناول هذه المادة تماما فهذا أفضل، أو محاولة التقليل منها قدر الإمكان.
